![]() ![]() You’ll want all the pixels to look like this (if you’re using an editor that shows pixels at small scale like this). It’s a really quick fix: resize the image. That’ll probably make at least some people less interested in your AU if the sprites look bad to them. This is a main issue with many sprites, and while it may not look so bad with just the smiley there, if it’s used as a huge part of the sprite, then it can usually look clashing and awkward, as well as a rushed and “drawn on” feel. ![]() See how the pixels of the red smiley are smaller than all of the pixels of Sans? Sans’ pixels seem more thick, right? So what’s a subpixel? It’s when the size of some pixels in a sprite are smaller than others. Here’s a little lesson on subpixels that’ll make all spriting talents at least 50% better.
